Duncan D. Hunter — Escondido’s new Congressman
Beginning in 2012, Escondido moves into a new Congressional District as the far western part of an area that is mostly inland and quite conservative. The incumbent Congressman is Duncan D. Hunter Jr., son of former Congressman Duncan L. Hunter. He was elected in 2008 with 56 percent of the vote and was re-elected in 2010 with 63 percent. He is a Marine, and a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.
