I flat out do not trust this council at all to act for the common good. Instead it is very likely anything they do will be good only for themselves and their cronies.

They showed their true colors with an attempt to pull a Wisconsin on the Pacific with their first charter city proposal. It was far too anti union.

I plan to actively oppose the charter on this round as well.

If the charter city idea is such a good thing, it can wait for a council that I trust.

And district elections are very likely to happen. Making too many changes at once is a VERY bad idea.

I'm still learning about this issue. But from what I think I know right now:

- Mr. Abed is once again far off the track. He will spend 3 to 5 million to try to retain power for himself and the Repugs, and he will take down (ruin?) city services in the process. At best: not responsible government. At worst: horrific behavior by a man who has been inflicted on this city. Time for a recall election?

- One Latino in over 100 years is an indication that we have anything but representative democracy here. And it shows in the extreme arrogance of the Repugs on the council. They seem to be on the council to serve themselves and their cronies, not the people at large, and most definitely not the Latino community.

Welcome to Late november.
6+ to lose; you tagged him with:
1. Long Term Economy. No change there.
2. Incumbent charisma. No HopenChange to run agaisnt this time.
3. Short term Economy. Still in the tank, the EU aint helping.

Now we get to add in these NEW factors:
4. Scandal. Fast & Furious and Solyndra. More about to break out of the pipe.
5. Foriegn/military failure. The Arab Spring is falling apart. Military control in Egypt along with AQ/MB control in Libya.
6. Social unrest. Occupy Wall Street has been overtaken by wannbe hippies and middle America is tired of it.

And we have 2 points of contention:
7. Policy change. You give it a plus, but the TYPE of change matters. Stimulus, too big too fail, and Obamacare are BAD policies and everyone knows it (not to mention the manner that Obamacare was passed). Everyone loves the idea of change...until the reality of what that change is gets enacted.
8. Military success. You gave obama a plus for OBLs death, but it is actually a minus due to his narccissic method of claiming the credit. No poll jump from OBL or any other AQs killed. If Iraq tuens into a bloodbath after the US leaves AND the Taliban Spring Offensive makes ground from a depleted troop presence, Obama will wear those albatrosses too.

So I see 6 negatives already with 2 more that I think are mischaracterized.
