Council praises Cal Poly plans for Diaz’s creek revitalization idea
City Council members liked the report from a team of Cal Poly Pomona students about revitalizing Escondido Creek. The team worked for months to develop a plan to turn the concrete-channeled watercourse into a community asset. The plan has multiple phases and remains mostly unfunded, but it provides the city with a concept. Several speakers recommended adding the proposal to the City’s General Plan, currently under revision. Council member Olga Diaz, the driving force behind the proposal, was praised for her vision.
