Carmen Miranda opens Council campaign
Carmen Miranda, EDC’s new director of outreach, has announced her candidacy for Escondido City Council and is the subject of a profile article in North County Times. Miranda, 41, ran for Council in 2006 and attracted more than 3,000 votes but did not get elected.
Miranda insists she is not a one-issue (immigration) candidate, and says she is concerned about the city’s infrastructure, public safety, libraries and bringing high-paying jobs. “Our city has so much potential but we keep making wrong decisions,” she is quoted as saying.

Carmen has talent, knowledge, ability, and is
motivated to support and enhance her community.
She deserves the vote of every Escondido voter.
