Escondido ends driver’s license-only checkpoints
North County Times is reporting that Escondido Police have agreed to end their driver’s license-only checkpoints. They will be replaced with checkpoints that cover driver’s licenses, but also a wider range of documentation, including insurance and registration, as well as whether seat belts are fastened and other safety issues. They will now be called “traffic safety checkpoints.”
