Activists rally against Bilbray’s shoe comment
A group of activists, including members of EDC, rallied outside the Solana Beach offices of Congressman Brian Bilbray Friday, June 4 to protest his televised comments that illegal immigrants can be identified by their clothing or the shoes they wear. A large number of old shoes were dropped at Bilbray’s office. “We want to match an absurdity with an absurdity,” said one speaker.

GOP congressman refuses to apologize for remark on ID’ing illegal immigrants

Notice that according to the reporter, Christi Guerin reiterated Bilray’s nonsense and said that “someone’s manner of dress can in fact be a legitimate way to determine whether to be suspicious about their immigration status.”
Appears as though Bilray’s remarks on TV were not a gaffe, but are in fact an *** accurate statement of his policy. ***
If this is in fact Bilray’s policy, he is extremely misguided and dangerous!
