EDC is 2010 Club of the Year; Moore is 2010 Volunteer of the Year
The San Diego County Democratic Party has selected the Escondido Democratic Club (EDC) and one of its officers for awards in recognition of work to advance the Democratic Party and Democratic values.
EDC has been selected “2010 Club of the Year” by the Party’s Council of Democratic Clubs. The award recognizes one club each year for setting an “example for other clubs through innovative programs, community outreach, political influence, growth, positive impact on its community, and other means of advancing the Democratic Party.”
EDC’s Vice President for Communications Rick Moore has been selected as the 2010 recipient of the Sylura Barron Volunteer of the Year Award. The award is presented to a Democrat “who demonstrates outstanding volunteerism… through their volunteer efforts in support of the San Diego County Democratic Party. The award recognizes the need to acknowledge volunteers who consistently and selflessly give their time and energy to further Democratic values.”
“Both of these awards represent the best ideals of civic responsibility and citizenship,” said EDC President Paul McNamara. “We are pleased the SDCDP recognized the hard work and volunteerism of the EDC Democrats who live on the front lines of the Republican North County. Their commitment to the community and its betterment is inspiring.”
The awards will be presented at the annual Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt Dinner, to be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 in San Diego.
