Busby Announces Run for 50th CD
Francine Busby told the EDC meeting April 9 that she will announce as a candidate for the 50th Congressional District seat now held by Republican Brian Bilbray.

Busby has unsuccessfully sought the seat several times. In 2008 Nick Leibham was the Democratic candidate, but was also unable to defeat Bilbray, who was elected in 2004. Busby, an EDC member, joins Tracy Emblem, also a Club member, who announced her candidacy earlier. Busby said Rep. Bilbray has been mentioned by several Washington D.C. sources as “vulnerable” and that national attention is once again being focused on the district.
